01. What platform is Acteo built on?
A. Acteo is built on Microsoft’s proven ASP and SQL Server 2000 technology.
02. What type of computer do I need to access Acteo?
A. Acteo is a web application, which means that it is accessible from any internet enabled device. Acteo has been optimized for use with the following Internet browsers: Microsoft’s Explorer 6.0 or higher, Mozilla’s FireFox, and Apple’s Safari. As all reports generated in the system are created as PDF’s you will require Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 or higher.
03. How can I access Acteo?
A. To access your company’s information, navigate your internet browser to the company specific URL and enter your username, password, and company name.
04. Can I install Acteo onto my own server?
A. Yes, Acteo clients can opt to host the program (Self-Hosted) on their own network servers, usually a stand alone system, located at the client’s facility.
Note: Future upgrades will be provided at the client’s request as per determined upgrade pricing at time of request. Refer to technical documentation to view system requirements for self-hosted applications.
05. What type of network infrastructure is required to install the Self-Hosted version of Acteo?

06. What if I don’t have the network infrastructure to install the Self-Hosted version of Acteo?
A. Acteo is available in either a hosted or self-hosted format. Hosted simply means that the application is maintained on a Gator server, located in a secure facility (based in the United States), which has a series of security safe guards and back-up mechanisms.
Note: All future upgrades and technical support are included with this option.
07. How secure is my information?
A. The Hosted version of Acteo uses a certified 128-bit encryption, the same technology used by financial institutions to encrypt data. If you opt for the Self-Hosted version our information security staff will discuss your requirements with you.
08. How much time is required to set-up Acteo?
A. Clients that select a Hosted version of Acteo can expect to have their access activated within 2-3 business days. The client is not involved in this part of the process. Clients that select a Self-Hosted version of Acteo can expect to have an IT representative spend 1 full day setting up and configuring the host server. Gator will provide set-up and configuration services via a separate contract.
09. Is it possible to upload existing company information from other applications?
A. Yes, information can be uploaded into the system via a variety of file formats.
10. What are the plans for product enhancements?
A. A full-version release will occur annually in February, and a sub-version release will occur annually in July. The next full-version release of Acteo will incorporate .net technology, which will add additional speed and capacity. Bonus capabilities of web-based administration functions and seamless integration with other applications will also be included.
In the future, new versions of the software will be designed to support other work activities requiring a project management strategy. As needed, the system will be made available in additional languages
11. As an Acteo client will I have any input in future releases of Acteo?
A. We are committed to continually enhancing Acteo to incorporate the information needs of our clients. All feedback provided by Acteo clients will be reviewed and incorporated as appropriate.
12. Am I eligible to upgrade to the latest release of Acteo?
A. Hosted version clients will receive all future upgrades at no additional charge. Self-Hosted version clients requesting upgrades will be provided as per determined upgrade pricing at time of request.
13. If I upgrade to the latest release of Acteo, do I have to re-input all of my data?
A. No, new product releases will migrate data seamlessly upon installation.
14. What documentation is available for learning about Acteo?
A. With the built in user help system you are able to search for topics or key words to give you a better understanding of the page you are working on or direct you to the page you want to get to. By using either the online tutorial presentations or downloading the PDF system manual you can view step-by-step instructions on completing a desired task.
15. What if I want to change how Acteo works?
A. Acteo has been developed in the field and tested using general business practices. If you still find that it isn’t quite what you want, Acteo can be modified, or custom modules can be developed to suit your specific needs.
16. Can I configure Acteo?
A. Acteo allows you to change the data types in the system to match the language of your particular industry or company.
17. Can I select what users can or cannot see?
A. Yes. Acteo allows you to select what areas you would like users to have permission to view. You can also allow some users to see data and other users to see and edit data.
18. Is my information backed-up?
A. The Hosted version of Acteo has systems in place that continuously backup your critical information. We use RAID-1 and a secure offsite backup system. Clients who select the Self-Hosted version will be responsible to set-up the appropriate backup protocols required for their particular industry or company.
19. What happens if I encounter an error while using Acteo?
A. Acteo is monitored 24/7. Our support staff is notified immediately when you have encountered an error in the system, or you send us an issue. Upon receiving an error or issue our support staff will handle the request and provide feedback as appropriate. All system users will have access to our support staff for technical assistance via the web; but, in the case where more direct assistance is required there is an extended support package available.
20. Is it possible to have a representative come and train my staff on how to use Acteo?
A. Yes, we can customize our training package to meet the needs of your company. Depending on your requirements we are able to provide training in person or via a webinar. Gator will provide training services via a separate contract.
21. What type of reporting can I expect from Acteo?
A. All data in the system can be outputted to a report as per the user’s preferences (i.e. between certain dates, involving certain people, un-invoiced contract amounts…). Once the user selects from a variety of related options of what to display, the user can select to output the information as a PDF document or as an Excel spreadsheet.
